Muhle R89 Razor - A Benchmark Safety Razor

After many years I have gone back to a Safety Razor. Searching reviews on the web, this model stood out to me with contestant high ratings.
Great for those wanting to start out or like me get reacquainted with a safety razor as it is very forgiving if your technique is not perfect.
Very well made and easy to use what is not to like?
In my case with the standard handle length I found the R89 to be unbalanced. With my weathered old clumsy hands I had difficulty putting a blade in and re assembled correctly.
I have since upgraded to an R89 Twist. Longer handle gives me better balance and fewer parts make for easy assembly.
Are these items cheap? No but they are of a very high finish and quality.
I would highly recommend any of the R89 line to a person looking for a good Safety Razor.

I had a merkur, but it always very annoyingly left stray hairs and never managed to reach parts.
The Muhle is everything the Merkur is not.
It is far superior.
